She has more than 11 years of experience preparing and reviewing Medicare and Medicaid cost reports and providing reimbursement consulting. She also has experience in financial modeling and benchmarking for long-term care facilities.

Ms. Schmidt’s professional accomplishments include:

• Conducting and supervising financial audits of skilled nursing facilities and other service organizations
• Supervising a Medicare and Medicaid cost report practice consisting of approximately 60 reports
• Performing due diligence procedures to assist investment groups with financing and investment decisions
• Preparing financial projections for valuations of acquisitions, sales, or refinancing of long-term care facilities
• Managing formal studies for the American Health Care Association on Medicaid shortfalls in nursing homes across the country
• Creating a model for the American Healthcare Association to calculate the impact of changes to the Medicare prospective payment system
• Maintaining a cost report database of over 1,000 skilled nursing facilities

Ms. Cyrus previously worked with BDO Seidman, LLP, in Milwaukee where she managed the health care consulting practice and was a project manager for the health care transaction support practice. She also provided financial analysis support and prepared budgets for Covenant Healthcare System.
