Session Description

This session will explore strategies for growth and diversification within a framework for strategic planning. The primary speaker will identify trends in managed long term care service delivery, PACE, and relevant legislative, regulatory and marketplace developments.  Then three different PACE senior care providers will discuss via case study each of their approaches to growth and diversification in a competitive marketplace.

Topics will include trends in managed care, Medicare Special Needs Plans, integrated care programs and senior care service delivery; a Case Study of Growth in PACE; a Case Study of Subcontracting with Massachusetts Senior Care Options; and a Case Study of a Live at Home Program.

The session will conclude with a strategic planning framework for PACE providers to consider growth and diversification.

Learning Objectives

Participants will be able to:

  • Understand key trends in managed long term care including PACE, Medicare Special Needs Plan, and other integrated programs.
  • Identify a framework for strategic planning for PACE.
  • Understand other risk-based care approaches and financing for middle income seniors such as Live at Home.
  • Consider a growth and differentiation strategy for PACE sponsoring organizations.
